Questions
The questionswe get asked most.
Plain answers, no legalese. If your question is not here, call or text us and we will answer it directly.
Summons and complaints, subpoenas, divorce and matrimonial papers, notices, and other court documents. If you are not sure whether your papers can be served, call or text us and describe them — we will tell you straight.
Yes. We serve throughout Erie and Niagara counties, including Buffalo, Amherst, Cheektowaga, Tonawanda, West Seneca, Hamburg, Niagara Falls, Lockport and North Tonawanda, along with the surrounding towns and villages.
The papers themselves, the name and address of the person to be served, and any deadline the court has set. Send the papers through the form on this site or call us and we will take it from there.
It is the work of finding someone whose address you do not have. We search lawful public records and databases, then confirm what we find with old-fashioned legwork, and report a workable address back to you in writing.
An affidavit of service — the sworn document that proves who was served, when, where, and how — completed and returned to you so it can be filed with the court. We also keep you updated as attempts are made.
It happens, and it is not the end of the case. We make repeated attempts at different times of day and different days of the week, document each one, and give you the results so you can decide how to proceed.
It means getting a document into the hands of the person it names, in a way New York law allows, and then stating in writing when, where and how that happened. Delivery is half of it; the signed proof of service is the other half. We do both.
Yes. Divorce and matrimonial papers are served without an audience — no scene at the door and no announcement to whoever answers it. The document changes hands and we leave, and we keep you updated on every attempt so nothing about service slows the case down.
